London 2019 Highlights

Back and bigger than ever – the leading online marketplace conference, Retail Without Borders, returned this year for it’s sixth and greatest London edition, welcoming the highest number of attendees to date! The ecommerce-packed event saw the likes of the world’s most influential international marketplaces meeting with the biggest names in global retail, all in the name of promoting business growth worldwide.

The eventful day was crammed full of crossborder insights, and provided all the invaluable information needed for retailers looking to broaden their horizons internationally, through online marketplaces.

This year we welcomed 30+ ecommerce experts to the stage, to share their insights into today’s online retail climate and how businesses can explore opportunities of growth crossborder. Given the ongoing deliberations around the UK’s position in the EU, our first panel session on crossborder opportunities post-Brexit, guest-chaired by renowned journalist & broadcaster Jon Snow, provided a great point of discussion and delivered a greater understanding of what other business opportunities lie in unexplored markets.

Other topics covered included current issues businesses experience within online retail – the battle for the high-street, the rise of the conscious consumer, and delving into developing ecommerce markets, among other themes.

We were proud to be joined on the day by a multitude of marketplaces, including Rakuten, Cencosud, Catch, La Redoute, Trade Me, Fruugo, NewEgg, eBay for Business and Zalando, to name a few.

What is extraordinary about a day like today is that you think all of these people are in their cells, working out wonderful online platforms - what is amazing is to get them into the room, into one big room, of hundreds of people, all engaged on the platform, but very often not actually meeting each other, and I think this has created a great fusion; people are learning off each other, enormously.
Jon Snow, Renowned broadcaster and journalist

Here’s what some of our attendees had to say about this year’s Retail Without Borders:

By far the best event in the UK for bringing together dynamic, like minded cross border e commerce specialist. this is our 3rd year exhibiting and we will look forward to 2020.
Landmark Global

Retail Without Border is a fantastic event for merchants, marketplaces and suppliers to attend if you're looking for highly relevant content and engaging conversations. We found that attendees were actively seeking advice and products to help grow their businesses and that we were able to hold many interesting conversations with the retail community throughout the day!
A great event, packed with so much knowledge and insight. Not only for retailers looking to navigate the plethora of cross border expansion options but for marketplaces looking to keep abreast of the latest innovations. RWB truely offers a unique balance between commercial opportunity and industry insight. For this reason it is always the first international event highlighted on my calendar.
