Simon Miss, International Business and Partner Developer at Cdiscount is announce as a speaker at the 2018 edition of Retail Without Borders

In a nutshell, can you describe how Landmark Global helps it’s customers?
Landmark Global is a logistic company, specialising in B2C international ecommerce deliveries. As the international division of bpost, Belgium’s national postal operator, we can rely on the expertise and an excellent reputation of our mother company: which is the market leader in Belgium.
Through our extensive distribution network of postal and non-postal partners, we guarantee a meticulous last-mile service in more than 220 countries with short transit times at highly competitive tariffs. From delivery to global fulfillment, we offer a one-stop ecommerce solution that best suits your needs.

What makes your company stand out from its competitors? Why such customers choose you?
We are an international company, with the mindset of a tech start-up. Our web-based, scalable and agile technology works seamlessly for everything: from interfacing with our customers and our suppliers; to manifesting and labelling; to the management of returns, customs data transmission, tracking deliveries; to our billing and administrative functions. We also believe very strongly in an “Think Global-Act Local” way of working. Our systems are supported by over 750 dedicated individuals in hubs strategically located worldwide, with sales and administrative offices wherever we need to be. This insures local expertise in each market where we are present.

Which international markets are you seeing the biggest demand for your services and why do you think this is?
Our biggest markets are currently US, Canada, Australia, China, France, Germany & Belgium. Why these destinations are important: The US is one of the largest ecommerce markets. As bpost we acquired Landmark Global which was originally an American company which developed a specific trade lane from the US to Canada. This explains our success in these markets and why it is still a large volume of our business today. Since we as Landmark Global are part of the bpost group, bpost (Belgium post) has its roots in Belgium and so we have a lot of volume to Belgium.
Besides our main lanes we offer also solutions worldwide and focus on other important ecommerce markets like South East Asia & Europe with destinations like Spain, The Netherlands, UK, …

What are your company's requirements for becoming a customer?
For more than a decade, we have enabled our customers to expand globally. Our business has grown from basic international mail and parcel delivery to full service, end-to-end solutions. Our customers are international companies with a focus on ecommerce. They are looking for a logistical partner who can partner with them to develop solutions that are tailored to their needs and the needs of their customers.

How is your company looking to grow and adapt your product offering in this ever changing ecommerce landscape?
We want to grow by offering an end to end integrated logistical solution to our clients and by ensuring we have a one stop stop for clients shipping B2C ecommerce. Within the ecommerce the landscape is continuously changing and as bpost/Landmark Global we believe in actively listening to how clients need are changing and seeing how these requests can be adapted/added to the existing portfolio. Also, we are following ecommerce trends to see how we can continuously improve/change our portfolio.

What do you think will be the next big thing in ecommerce and why?
As online shoppers are becoming more and more demanding, we believe that creating “convenience” for the online shopper will be the most important change in ecommerce. Convenience in delivery is becoming key and a way for etailers to increase customer satisfaction and increase conversion on their webshop. Logistical companies are working on new ways to meet the customers’ demands: predicted time slot deliveries, in-home deliveries via smart lock systems …
